Thought of the day #21

I woke up late. I love getting up early for my morning practice and enter my day fully ready to give to others and tackle the stuff on my agenda for the day. I make this a non-negotiable commitment to myself.

On those occasions when I do wake up late, I have to assess what to do. Do I jump into my day or do I pause, even if it’s for a short time, and follow just some of my normal morning practice.  Usually, I opt for doing some parts of it, but sometimes I don’t; (and yes…I feel it later). Because my morning practice includes my commitment to uninterrupted time with God, I must remember that even if I don’t get that time, I am still connected to God and he is still Lord of my life, so I can still have a day that is pleasing to him. That means making good choices and repenting when I don’t.

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4
