Beauty in all seasons!

I love when He surprises me with an "Ah-Ha" moment when I least expect it, or reminds me of something right when I need it most. That’s exactly what happened over the weekend.

What you’re about to read is straight from my prayer journal, a real-time entry written as thoughts came to mind. I hope it encourages you!

October 31st, 2026

“Dear God, good morning. I feel relaxed… I must confess, right now I feel like it’s a good time in my life, no major things going on, I am having lots of dreams and visions (the thought of them becoming a reality fills me with joy!), financial stability, kids are doing well, business is growing, friendships are good; yet, it’s hard to fully enjoy.

God, I know you can understand, because when I think of my life and see the amazing moments of joy, there have been so many challenges and struggles in the midst of it.

As I look out my window and see the leaves changing, I am tempted to go outside and lay on the ground and look at the sky to remind me that there is a season for everything and right now is a time to enjoy. Maybe tomorrow it will be different and that’s okay; today is very good.

I don’t like the challenging seasons, I am not a dance in the rain person, I am more like a stand in the rain and let it fall until it stops. I do remember a time when I put on my shower cap and played basketball in the rain with my son Raul, that was so much fun. Maybe that’s it: what I can do when “rain” falls is remember to have fun. I guess it’s similar to dancing in the rain, but I like the sound of “have fun in the rain” better. Maybe one day when it’s raining, I will go and play outside; but now, since I have sisterlocks, I don’t have to worry about a shower cap. Just thinking about playing in the rain brings me joy, now I can’t wait for a rainy day so I can go outside and play in it. Maybe on “good days” like these, you make me stop so I can reflect and plan for the challenging times.

As I look out my window I have another thought. There are still some green leaves on the trees, some leaves have fallen and some leaves are ready to fall. There is so much beauty in this scenery. If I can just see that in times when life is good, messy, or  when I am barely hanging on, there is still beauty. I think that if I did, I would be filled with joy because in that part of the season (which I will refer to as “complicated”), there is so much beauty, and is pleasing to the eye.

So I started with enjoying the current good season, and ended with finding beauty in the complicated season. I do believe there is a reason for that, and I would find out soon enough. For now, I am going to enjoy this good season, and soak it in.”

Though I’m only sharing a part of my journal entry, writing it for others to read reminded me to embrace every season and find beauty within it. May you find it in yours, too.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:” Ecclesiastes 3:1

P.S. I did go outside and laid on the leaves!
