“80% is really good, and 20% needs some help. If we can work on the 20% together, you can reduce the issues that surface tremendously—and stop letting the 20% define the relationship.”
Something close to that is what I shared with someone to help navigate a tough situation. They were resistant to seeking deeper support, and when I asked why, the answer was simple: fear. Fear that it won’t work.
I truly believe the Holy Spirit gave me that analogy in the moment, but it also made me look inward.
The truth is, my life is so incredibly good. I hit the jackpot with my husband, have wonderful adult children, friendly dogs. I have my mom, my siblings, a wonderful church community, and deep friendships. These are just a few things that came to mind, and the list goes on!
But then, a bad day or a heavy moment hits, and I completely forget that life is good. I forget all the wonderful blessings I have been given. Whether it's things out of my control, perimenopause, personal struggles, or just external noise, I quickly lose sight of the 80%. Sadly, I let the 20% define me.
Realizing this filled me with so much joy and determination. I do not want to be defined by my 20%! Some of those pieces are "thorns in my flesh," some are self-inflicted, and some are the byproduct of past trauma. But regardless of where they come from, what matters is that I address them so I can focus on enjoying the 80% that is so beautiful.
It also made me think of the women in my coaching groups. Each one of them is absolutely killing it—showing up, giving their best, loving their families, and serving others. But they are also aware of their own 20% that needs to be tending and nurtured. They actively seek opportunities to work on it, and I am deeply honored that they chose my program as a safe space to do that.
If you are a woman ready to stop letting your 20% drag you down, I invite you to allow my Women Christian Coaching program to be part of your journey to get there.
Sometimes we don’t even know which area needs nurturing first. While my program may not address every single thing, it has a proven track record of helping women take powerful steps toward defining themselves by their beautiful 80%.

P.S. This photo below was taken at one of the wonderful spaces I intentionally work on my 20%! It’s me, my incredible life coach and friend, Julie. We unexpectedly showed up in matching outfits, so of course, I couldn't resist capturing the moment!
